Ok, maybe you’re right. Otherwise I have no idea why he wouldn’t just smash the freakin ball to the other side of the table…

michael maze, the guy who’s lobbing here, is one of the top 20 players on earth. trust me, what you’re describing would not work against him – i’ve faced a lobber who puts heavy topspin on the ball and it’s not easy to smash.

not the best ever table tennis rally,- – gud but there was not enough variation in the spin, the defender and attacker kept doing the same thing and when the defender tried to attack he failed. Gud rally but not the best, check out waldner vs perrson

because u probably play shitty lobbers that dont know how to put heavy top spin on their lobs. heavy top spinned lobs take skill to smash.

No, smash like tennis also works in Ping Pong. I always use it and nobody ever return it. It’s much more effective than using a forehand stroke which can produce much less force.

A couple of reasons… the ball has a strong spin, a simple smash would not hit the table. Connected with that, the tennis ball is also much heavier and can fly much further than a pingpong ball would.

Why don’t they just use a smash motion like tennis serve. One smash and the point is over. I also smash when I get a high ball and nobody ever return my smash back because It goes 10 meters up high and none of my opponent could fly…

The other guy was just setting him up for the spikes like how was he expecting to win?

that asian guy is so dumb… if he really wanted to finish the game, then he shoulda just slammed the ball on the other side….

Why the attacked didnt just go in with a Waldner style stop block I dont know. Would have saved a lot of energy.

The attacker should have changed the speed, spin, direction, timing because he was so predictable. A few more of the points and he can get exhausted and end up loosing the game.

I dont get why he doesnt just hit some baby hit when he is that far out..

because there is a lot of spin on the ball, also taking the really high arc off the ball and aiming it right over the net is really hard to do: if its to high than his opponent can take back control of the point…so its just easier to keep slamming it
