Indian National Table Tennis Teams Practice Session: deep fast pushed service return
Written by ace.

Often the emphasis is on flicking, driving or looping or short pushing returns. Sometimes though, if you pick the spin and depth of serve correctly, a fast deep push return placed into your opponents crossover point can be a very productive return of serve. This is an example of that type of return. Video footage of some of Pathik Mehta and Subhajit Saha from the Indian National Mens Team practicing at our leagues home venue at the St Augustines Table Tennis Centre, Avenham, Preston, England.

@sarsour840 Long time since I filmed this but this was part of an exercise routine which didn’t include the returner pushing fast and deep so it’s probably the last thing Pathik Mehta was expecting and why he wasn’t in position to play the next shot. Goes to show how effective the element of surprise can be. I think some of the top players would also move to the left and take as many of their shots on their forehand side even from the left of the table. Depends on style, strengths and ability.
