What Type of Rubber To Use For Serve

Part 1: forehand or backhand serve; type of spin; where I should serve the ball from; where I should serve the ball to. Part 1 of a 4 part series. Serving today is an extremely complicated topic. This series of 4 videos explains and demonstrates 9 points which Jim Clegg feels all table tennis players should think about before they serve the ball.

well what that do not tell you is that thos are
serves that will set you up for a loop drive
but what about defence players like myself
that need to flick block and chop and smash
that is why im saying this will not help you unless
    you like looping

watch all four videos in this series poopidpoopid.. If you do that you will see part 2 deals with the importance of “length of serve” in restricting the type of return your opponent can make. There are 9 points covered – only four are in this first video.

virusstone these videos are not about a style of play. They are about what Jim thinks a player should have considered before they serve eg what spin should I use, where on the table should I serve to, what length, what do I want to achieve with my serve etc. After you’ve considered these types of things you can chose a type of serve to suit your own style be it european, asian defensive etc etc.

Thanks gregstar1986. Good luck against your mate. We haven’t done any forehand videos but you might want to check out pingskills channel on YouTube. I know they have and they have a good reputation too.
